Have you ever heard of a HornOX? No? Let us introduce you to our brand-new eatery in Saalbach Hinterglemm. A new restaurant, in which we aim to turn everything you might traditionally expect of an eatery in a Salzburgian ski area on its head — typically atypical. It’s wild. It’s exciting. And, above all else, it’s great! That much we can promise. And if your mouth has already started to water reading these words, then, dear foodies, get ready. Here is our HornOX story:

Have you had your fill of traditional Austrian cuisine? Never mind! The appeal of our Awesome Eatery lies in its difference. So, fancy a steak from the local mouflon? Directly from our region, aka our hunting grounds, and served with homemade chimichurri? Or perhaps the braised beef ribs with corn on the cob or grilled broccoli? We have decided to turn the tables on ‘traditional’ Austrian gastronomy and create an experience similar to one you might find in one of the big metropolises of the world. Eating out in Saalbach Hinterglemm has never been so fun!

Chef Things: Pinzgau meets Great Britain!

Real Pinzgauer meets British chef: the result is our ‘Woid-und-Wiesn-Cuisine’ with international flair rather than ordinary haute cuisine. Together with our head chef Rob Key, we have created a fresh and inspired menu, that’s somehow cosy, but also a little crazy and manages to match our philosophy perfectly in this dichotomy. Where else would a cosy, homely atmosphere meet Austro-Asian fusion cuisine with a pinch of Brit-Pop? At HornOX, we serve an extra portion of happiness with a twist — not to mention an atypical wow moment with every single bite!

At Hotel Glücksschmiede, we have specialised in making people happy in atypical ways. That’s why, in addition to our personal highlights such as finely seared game specialities and unusual cuts of venison, game and beef, we also serve delicious wines from our historic wine cellar. And the desserts, well, they make it easy to forget any worries about calories. Our recommendation: simply enjoy our chocolate dream without a care in the world and hop into your skiing or hiking boots the next day.
