Hello, bikers! Glemmride 2025, Salzburg’s legendary (if not the most legendary) bike festival — only real, with the Masters of Dirt Show, downhill races and cool bands — is back, and the long wait is finally over. But what does a day at Glemmride look like? A good friend would describe a classic Glemmride moment for you like this:

A tremor runs through the gathered crowd, but not a sound can be heard. At this moment, everything seems frozen: hardly anyone moves, the tension holding them all captive for the moment, while the next daredevil athlete whirls through the air on her bike in front of them. She hangs upside down for an eternal second, then everything happens very quickly: the bike finds solid ground, the athlete  stretches her arms in the air jubilantly and the crowd awakens from a moment of collective breath-holding and once again becomes the loud, cheering mass that you are used to at Glemmride. • When? At the beginning of July, the Glemmtal will be transformed into Austria’s bike hotspot and thus a meeting point for all adrenaline junkies and downhill lovers. Glemmride 2025 takes place from the 9th of July to the 13th of July.
• What? Nothing more and nothing less than the ride event of your life — even if you’re ‘only’ sitting in the grandstand. Glemmride is one of THE events in Saalbach and offers spectacular shows and races as well as plenty of fresh tunes and unique experiences. Have you ever got up close and personal with exceptional athletes? This is your chance!
• Why? Because the region, with its many hundred kilometres of bike and mountain bike trails, is predestined to bring together those people who feel most at home right here. So, counter-question: Why the hell not?

After the Ride is before the Ride!
Let’s be honest, after a day full of adrenaline, holding your breath and cheering, it can take a while to get some rest in the evening. Falling asleep is often out of the question for hours. My tip? Simply don’t go to sleep at all, and instead check out the musical programme at Glemmride and turn night into day. Variety is guaranteed, as there are DJs as well as rock, reggae, and punk bands performing their tunes and creating at least as much of an atmosphere as the rest of the events!
