Hiking with Kids in Saalbach Hinterglemm
Or: “Hey mom, can we join you on the mountain?”
My boys are real Pinzgau nature boys and have already explored the Glemmtal Alps — the natural playground right on our doorstep — on several occasions. Nevertheless, not every hiking route we recommend to our adult guests is also suitable for the little rockets. Good thing, we also have a varied children’s program, allowing you to find the best tours to do with children in Saalbach Hinterglemm. You can find our highlights — tried and tested by me and my boys, of course — in the following guide.
Hiking with Children in Saalbach Hinterglemm
- Montelino’s Adventure Path: Can your kids help the sad clown Montelino find his smile again? Let’s find out together. Take the Kohlmaisbahn cable car up to the Kohlmais summit and look for Monetlino’s friends at 15 exciting action points. In addition to a day full of fun and adventure, your kids can also take part in an exciting competition and win great prizes. By the way: the adventure path is accessible with a baby carriage, and many mountain huts along the way serve special offers for kids.
- Kodok’s Adventures at the Reiterkogel: There’s a new attraction at the Reiterkogel where your kids can help the lovable goblin Kodok find his magic utensils again, which were stolen from him by a sneaky troll. The adventure trail spans 3.3 kilometres and 11 exciting puzzle stations. It is also accessible with a baby carriage as far as the Rosswaldhütte. Good to know: A visit to Kodok’s fantasy world is free, and the adventure pass is included in the valid cable car ticket. It’s worth a visit, for sure!
- Wildlife Trail: The Wildlife Trail shows young visitors playfully which animals are at home in the Glemmtal, what they look like and where they live. The aim is to solve the tricky puzzles in the Wildlife Quiz and collect a medal at the Ossmannalm. Animal fun is pre-programmed here!
- Kids Hiking Challenge: Are you looking for a real challenge for you and your kids? Then you’ve come to the right place because nowhere else in Saalbach Hinterglemm is it as easy to hike with children as on this six-path hike. Three control stations have to be found on each path to receive an award at the end. An exciting and fun way to explore our beautiful Glemmtal Alps and the extensive children’s program. But beware: two of the six hikes, the Zwölferkogel summit climb and the Schattberg summit climb, are comparatively challenging and require surefootedness.
After the Hike is before the Cuddles
Fun, action and adventure in the fresh air make you tired, so after the children’s hike, it’s time to cuddle up and laze around the hotel. And what could be better for this than our super cuddly rooms and the children’s play corner in our lobby? That’s right! Nothing! So don’t waste any more time and book a sporty vacation with kids now. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
