Whether you fancy a short trip to observe wild animals in their natural habitat or experience the thrill of a hunt, I’ll take you with me!

So, what does one do in a hunting area such as this one? Many people don’t realise that as a hunter, it’s your job to take care of the sustainable regulation and species management of wild animals in your hunting ground. This means maintaining — and often even increasing — the biodiversity of the local landscape. Forest management and forest protection are also part of my hunting duties. All in all, it’s an important task and I like to take any chance I get to explain that to my guests — especially young ones. It’s a great opportunity for them to familiarise themselves with nature and observe the local animals.

If you have a valid hunting licence for the Salzburg region, you also have the opportunity to experience an actual hunt with me. Depending on the season and time of day, you might see chamois, mouflon, roebuck, stag, black grouse or marmot in this area. With an experienced local hunting guide — or even myself — at your side, you’ll learn everything you need to know about your surroundings and receive useful pieces of advice about the animals and the region. Just remember to bring clothing suitable for tracking through the high mountains, good footwear and a head torch, and you’ll be good to go.
